From time to time, less complicated is better in terms of folio case styles, a fact that highlights two latest iPad 2 cases by Incipio, NGP Matte and Semi Hard iPad 2 Case. Both are pliable smooth plastic shells that cover around the rear sides and edges of the Apple tablet computer, wrapping only a bit of the fore side. The material used and coverage area are the only dissimilarities.

The NGP Matte iPad 2 case by Incipio has been around for quite some time, it started with the first version of iPad, and it developed by the time. NGP is short from Next Generation Polymer, denoting the type of semi-hard TPU-like material it is made from. And this is basically the reason why the iPad 2 case is so tough. Different from numerous malleable shells, it does not by accident pull away from the sides with an easy force. All of the cut-outs and holes are centred ideally, as accurately lined up as it is seen on almost all iPad 2 cases by Incipio.

Both the On /Off key and volume key are covered and demand just a bit of force to work well. The headset connectors, mic, back camera, side key, speaker, and the connector port for the dock are all completely unprotected. The iPad 2 case is shipped in five different colours, and comes with two protective films for the protection of the scree, one shiny, and one anti-glare. In addition, there is an installation card and a polishing cloth. The velvety finish of the iPad 2 case is just irresistible, and the protective films for the screen are just a perfect addition for the entire protection of the tablet PC and its touch screen.

The first impression of the Semi-hard iPad 2 Case might seem very similar to the NGP Matte iPad 2 case, however, the differences do exist. The semi-hard iPad 2 case version is made from TPU which is different from the NGP Matte version. The iPad 2 case fits perfectly and the edges hold just as well. Cut-outs for the side key, back camera, and mic are just a bit more sturdily cut and are also very well lined up.

The Semi-hard iPad 2 case has the exact key coverage as the NGP Matte iPad 2 case, they are in fact a bit easier to use, however, takes the shielding further with a relatively wrapped speaker, as well as flip open protection for the dock connector and headset ports. These definitely deliver more protection from damage, however, the cut-outs are so firm and the flaps so near that they might obstruct with some bigger pieces of accessories, mainly on the dock connector side. Headset plugs do not show any kind of issues. The Semi-hard iPad 2 case comes in several colour combinations such as white, black and green. All of them include protective films for the screen, application card, dust removing tape, microfibre polishing cloth, and a removable stand.
