iPhone 4 Battery – Incipio OffGrid

The OffGrid iPhone 4 Battery Case from Incipio provides a little bit less power than the Juice Air iPhone Battery Pack: 1450mAh. The manufacturer states the battery should almost double your iPhone 4 battery life.

The OffGrid iPhone 4 battery case comes in black sturdy plastic, and similar to the Mophie pack, has a big, slide-in bottom compartment with a slide-on cap. The iPhone 4 battery case measures a bit over 2 ounces, and 5 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide, and 0.5 inch thick, which is quite thinner than the Mophie's pack, even though the sleek plastic is a bit slithery in the hand.

Similar to the Mophie’s packs, the OffGrid iPhone 4 battery case recharges through a micro-USB. The package incorporates a 2 foot cable for charging, that you connect to a port placed where you would expect the OffGrid’s bottom-right speaker grille to pop up. On the bottom front edge of the iPhone 4 battery case sit blue LED indicators (four of them) that show the charging status.

The OffGrid iPhone 4 battery contains cut-outs in the case, which makes the buttons of the iPhone accessible. The power and mute controls are simpler to use than on the Juice Pack Air.

There is also a tiny power button on the front left edge. Pushing the button once lights up the LED indicators to show the power status; pushing and holding it for two seconds switches on the pack so it that it can start powering your mobile device.

If you feel right with the feel of the plastic, and would also like to save some money, the OffGrid is a rational solution for an iPhone 4 battery.

iPhone 4 Battery – Mophie Juice Pack Air

The Juice Air iPhone 4 Battery Pack from Mophie is almost the same as the Juice Pack Plus at 2.5 ounces, measuring a hair different: 5.1 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide, and a bit less than 0.7 inches thick. The Air incorporates the USB-to-micro-USB cable (30 inches).

The iPhone 4 Battery Pack's main dissimilarity is that it delivers less power than the Plus version, just 1500mAh as opposed to 2000mAh of the Plus’s. The manufacturer claims you can squeeze up to an extra 6 hours of talk time, 5 hours of 3G data, or 9 hours of Wi-Fi use out of the iPhone 4 battery pack, and these are estimates that sound reasonable. The Juice Air iPhone 4 battery Pack charges through a micro-USB port, too, located near the bottom of its right-hand edge. It also has LED indicators to notify the battery level. There is also a switch that directs when the battery charges your mobile phone.

Different from the Plus, though, the Air does not utilize pass-through keys for the device's power and mute buttons. The pack contains cut-outs that allow for direct access. Bear in mind that it will cost you less than 20 pounds more for the Plus, witch is worth it due to more capacity and smoother look.
