The Jawbone's Era Bluetooth Headset is well-known for its elegance and excellent performance. It is available in several original styles: Midnight, Shadowbox, Smokescreen, and Silver Lining. Every one of them uses a layered surface method, with one tone beneath and a metallic grid overlay on top.

The Era measures similar to the Icon Bluetooth Headset version, 1.77 x 0.95 x x 0.72 inches (l, w, t). The Jawbone Era seems rectangular from the front, however is in fact a bit curved to fit more easily to the side of the face. On the top of the Bluetooth headset is a horizontal bar that works as the multi-point button for talk. It has raised above the surface of the Bluetooth headset and is highlighted with small striped texture so you cannot miss it. Just above that is the micro-USB jack for charging.

The very back of the Bluetooth headset is absolutely the same to that of the Icon model. The earpiece is put on top, with the power slider switch and Voice Activity sensor nub beneath. As is the case with some other Jawbone Bluetooth headsets, it is best to wear the Bluetooth headset so the Voice Activity sensor is on your cheek to make sure the best audio quality for your callers. Jawbone has enhanced its Bluetooth headsets so the sound quality does not reduce if the sensor is not on your cheek, but it only works better if you have the Bluetooth headset fitted in a correct way. Around the sensor is an LED indicator that lights white or red, which depends on the status of the Bluetooth headset.

When it comes to earpiece, the Era is available in eight dissimilar fit solutions. Four of them have loops so you can wear the Bluetooth headset without a hook, while four others are regular earbud covers that do demand a hook for a firm fit. It is recommend to try all the possibilities for the best fit; you will most likely end up with the standard looped earbud as your favourite style. Nevertheless, it takes a bit of hard work for the earbud of the Bluetooth headset to fit correctly, you have to put it in your ear directing down and then rotate it upward so that the end directs towards your mouth. This is really peculiar , and while you think the fit is just fine, you think it could be a bit more user-frinendly.

If you have always wondered where the volume button is, interestingly enough, the Jawbone Era does not have one. To regulate the volume on the Bluetooth headset, you will either have to count on your device's own button or press and hold the talk button when you utilize it, and the volume range will go up and down. It would have been grate if it was for a manual button solution, however as the Era has self-regulating volume customization, you will probably not even need it. This is yet another reason why this Bluetooth headset is so unique.
